You only have one chance to make a first impression, so make it count! Whether it is on the phone or in person, take the time and give them your complete attention.
View your morning drive/walk through the property keeping this in mind. Remember, what you see will be what someone who has never seen your community before will see. What impression does your office or clubhouse provide? Make sure it shines!
There is a great website that was brought to our team's attention that provides not only additional thoughts on Positive First Impressions, but a great deal of other ideas too. Visit LeasingCafe.com for more.
Please share one thing that you do to ensure a positive first impression: it can be related to curb appeal and/or to your leasing presentation.

One piece of advice I can give has to do with office traffic. Often, I will be alone in the office on weekends, etc. If I am on the phone, and a resident or prospective resident comes through the door, I always make sure you acknowledge them by waving hello! That way, they can see I will be attentive to them as soon as I can hung up on my current phone call, and it does not take my attention away from the person on the phone, either.
ReplyDeleteIn regards to lasting impressions, my advice is to make sure you keep the positive rapport you built during the leasing process throughout the time the individual lives at your community. Ways to do this are to remember their name, their pet’s name, their hobbies, and events in their lives that they have spoken to you about. This way when you see them you can greet them by name and ask them how their pet/parent/child is. Also, do those little things they don’t expect. Recently I helped an elderly gentleman set up a Facebook account from his home computer. Last month our maintenance team took out the trash for a woman who had been very sick. These small things make a lasting impression that help keep the resident a resident and make them more likely to talk about your community to their friends and family.
